After multiple aborted attempts on account of the weather, Ayla and I were finally able to make the fabled Fort DeSoto to Egmont crossing. This open ocean crossing can get ugly quickly with unpredictable wind, current, and waves, but today was one of those rare gems. The water was clear and the wind was down as we set out into the blue!

Things were going well, so we paddled on down an empty coast. Ayla logged over 10 miles on the SUP today, most of them in the open ocean.
